October “Spotlight”

OCTOBER “SPOTLIGHT”

We had such a wonderful month of October here at FDW. Nutcracker and Winter Celebration rehearsals are in full swing. It is one of the busiest and best times of the year at the studio. All the staff and kids are working so hard to make these productions happen.

We were honored to support Anacortes Rotary’s annual fundraiser on Halloween weekend. A group of our advanced dancers performed Welcome to the Madhouse, choreographed by Ms. Roz, and Ms. Alexandria choreographed a Thriller flash mob for our students and Rotarian dancers. Thank you to all who participated in the show!! The link to the video is below.

The creative juices were definitely flowing with some fabulous costumes over Halloween. It was so much fun to have a week of costumes in class!!  We had so many great costumes come in this year. Choosing winners for our costume contest has never been so hard! Thank you so much to all who participated! The winners this year are.....

Early childhood: Mae Jordan (Eagle)

Elementary: Maret Crumbo (Vote for Women)

Middle School: Ella Kidder (Pirate)

High School: Anna Ricketts (Chad)

Overall: Sienna Wilken (Sienna came with a costume everday. This was her Zombie look)

Honorable Mention: Laila Raymor (Little Red Riding Hood) & Ethan Carroll (Sunflower)

If you know a FDW dancer whose accomplishments need a shout out, please let us know! We’d love to feature them in a future installment of “Spotlight.” Send details to studio@fidalgodanceworks.org
