Alexandria Schafer
Dance Instructor - Ballet/Jazz/Hip Hop/Lyrical/Young Children’s Dance
At age 5, Alexandria Schafer began dancing at Skagit Valley Academy of Dance (SVAD) located in Mount Vernon, Washington. Her joy for dance began with ballet, tap and jazz, but quickly grew to lyrical, hip hop and pointe as she continued to dance till graduating high school. At SVAD she performed in numerous Nutcracker performances as well as competed with their competition team, Dansations. She attended competitions and workshops with Dance Educators of America (DEA) and was awarded multiple scholarships to attend DEA’s ballet seminar during summers. Alexandria was crowned Senior Miss DEA in 2010 in DEA’s Title Competition. She later attended DEA’s Teacher Training Seminar to complete her Level 1, 2 & 3 DEA Teacher Training Certification.
Alexandria began assisting in 2008, and teaching/choreographing a few years after. She has continued to teach dance of all styles, beginning at SVAD and continuing to Dancing For Joy (Bellingham, WA where she is currently the Jazz Department Head), Allen Grange Dance Education (Bow, WA) and now Fidalgo DanceWorks (Anacortes, WA). Alexandria has also had the opportunity to assist in coaching the dance team at Burlington Edison High School.
Alexandria continues to further her education by becoming certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), training in Pilates and anything else she can!
